There are many stress relief tips you can utilize these days. Here is a list of the most effective tips you can use can use to enhance your personal stress management program.
1. Meditation
There are many differerent forms of meditation available. We have personally tried 3 or 4 different types over a twelve year period. We currently find 'Holosync' to be very beneficial for relaxation, clarity of mind, expansion of awareness, and stress relief.
2. Breathing
We have tried 'Sudarshan Kriya' and 'Vibrational Breath Therapy'. They are both excellent. We currently practice Vibrational Breath Therapy. It is an excellent technique for stress relief. As you draw in breath you focus it on your chakras (energy centres) to enhance energy flows through the meridians.
3. Music
There is some wonderful healing music available today to soothe and harmonize you after a stressful day. During a biofeedback session (if you choose) we may play some beautiful healing music such as Jonathon Coleman or Sacred Earth.
4. Walking in Beautiful Places
The Australian bush is a wonderful place to 'go walkabout' in. Smell the eucalyptus, listen to sound of the birds (or sometimes the silence), breathe in the fresh air and soak up the diverse, beautiful scenery. Perhaps you prefer a rugged coastline, a deserted beach, the crashing of waves, etc. Feel energized after a lovely walk.
5. Gardening
Just getting outdoors with a bit of light exercise, fresh air and sunshine can be very invigorating. Digging in the dirt, creating a beautiful outdoor space with your own colours and forms, helps you to unwind and forget your day to day concerns, and gives you a fresh outlook.
6. Massage / Myotherapy
Myotherapists especially are highly trained in all aspects of human physiology and can quickly pinpoint problem areas in your body. They use a variety of techniques such as deep tissue massage, dry needling, cupping and trigger point to name a few. It is a very effective form of stress relief.
7. Essential Oils / Aromatherapy
We all seem to have such a storehouse of negative emotions buried inside us. Certain stressful situations and, in particular, certain people can press our buttons and negative emotions such as anger, rage, grief, frustration, etc, suddenly come bubbling to the surface. There are specific essential oils and blends that are designed to release negative emotions buried deep inside us so we can handle these situations better.
8. Do What You Love Doing
This may be making time for your favourite hobby or just simply relaxing by watching a movie or your favourite TV program. Perhaps you enjoy reading or listening to music. Give yourself some downtime to do the things you love doing.
9. Exercise
Going to the gym, pilates, yoga, swimming, walking, jogging, etc, can all help to clear your mind and refresh your body and relieve stress.
10. Appreciation
If you wait for life to be great before you feel appreciation then you are doing things in reverse. Learn or train yourself to appreciate what you have now and the universe will bring you more things to appreciate. The things that you desire will flow easily to you when you cultivate a state of appreciation in your day to day life.
